Summer Leadership Training Fellowship
Looking for Immigrants and advocates of Immigrant rights from Metro Detroit

- Are you a leader, Do you want to be leader?
One Michigan is organizing a series of training’s in Metro Detroit for new leaders, of all ages, in the movement for immigrant rights. Each training will provide a comprehensive introduction to organizing and leadership, including learning to tell your story and working effectively in teams to create a shared strategy and produce measurable actions.
When: June 11, June 25th , July 16th, July 30th, August 6th,August 20th, September 3rd, September 17th, October 1st,October 15th,October 29th, November 12th, November 19th
All dates will fall on Saturdays from 11am-3pm. In addition 2 actions/events TBD
Where: One Michigan Headquarters 3811 Cicotte Detroit, MI 48210
Stipend: $400
Food will be provided free for all participants
The training’s are designed to:
Teach basic organizing skills. Help participants learn to tell their own stories and speak in public. Train participants in the use of social media tools for outreach and organizing. Provide an insider’s overview of the immigration debate. Build leadership teams of five to six people in a geographic area. Conduct a brief action to give participants a chance to practice newly learned skills
**a full commitment to this fellowship is required please take time to look at your schedule before making a commitment. Attendance policy of 2 or less absences required to receive $400 stipend.**
