Join One Michigan for a : Mass Mobilization to D.C
The time to act to pass the DREAM Act is now.
Over the last year we have made great gains fighting for the DREAM Act. We have managed to convince 40 senators and 124 representatives to co-sponsor the DREAM Act, giving us their commitment to move forward with the bill.
All of this is great news. It means that we are close to getting the DREAM this year; it means that all of our work has been paying off.
But we must also not forget years past, we have been here before. In 2007 we had the same opportunity to pass the DREAM Act, however we were not able to convince our legislators that taking a gamble on us would pay off. This year has to be different. This year we have to show our legislators that they have no choice but to pass the DREAM Act.
We know youth are ready to take action. We know you are all ready to fight and take a last stand for what you believe in and so we are asking that you join us in Washington D.C. for three days of escalating action.

ONE MICHIGAN AND ALL DREAM ACT YOUTH ACROSS THE NATION ARE DEMANDING THE PASSAGE OF DREAM ACT.
WE NEED YOUR HELP!
PLEASE CALL SENATOR DEBBIE STABENOW AND TELL HER TO CO-SPONSOR THE DREAM ACT!!
In an act of civil disobedience at John McCain’s office in Arizona to urge the passage of the DREAM Act on Monday, May 17, 2010 three undocumented students were arrested, detained, and are now facing deportation. One of these students is Ann Arbor’s Mohammad Abdollahi, a twenty-four year old gay Iranian man who has been in the country since the age of three, but is not a legal citizen because of a financial mistake of twenty dollars. If Mohammad is deported to Iran, he faces possibly execution. Mohammad put his life literally on the line for the thousands of undocumented youth in this country who find themselves in a position similar to his in that they face being thrown out of the country they were brought to at a young age and call home – all because of a piece of paper. He did it to urge this nation to wake up and Pass the DREAM Act NOW!
Help us by flooding Senator Stabenow’s office with calls urging her to co-sponsor the DREAM Act.

“Hi, my name is _________ and I am calling in support of the DREAM Act (S.729). The DREAM Act lays the groundwork for immigration reform and allows immigrant youth of good moral character to make crucial economic contributions to the United States. To not pass the act at a time when this country needs an economic stimulus and a more educated workforce would be great folly. I urge Debbie Stabenow to become a cosponsor of the DREAM Act.”
