Mission Statement
One Michigan is an organization led by immigrant youth and supported by strong allies. We work towards providing resources to immigrant communities through organizing, education, and empowerment. We answer to and are driven by the needs of our community.
Pillars of One Michigan – We Believe….
In a organization where immigrant youth are the leaders working with the support of allies.
In empowering undocumented youth so their voices are at the forefront of the movement.
In working towards a pathway to citizenship for undocumented immigrants and fighting against policies that criminalize immigrants.
In a volunteer led, community based, grassroots organization.
That everyone of our members has the potential to become a leader in their own way.
That in order to move the immigrant rights movement forward and to apply pressure on legislators, it is important that direct action is taken.
One Michigan Looking Forward
Undocumented Student’s path to college- One Michigan will be researching and putting resources together for undocumented students. These resources will aid them in their struggle to attend college. We will be working towards a scholarship for immigrant youth.
END (Education Not Deportation) Campaigns- One Michigan will continue to fight the deportations of undocumented immigrants from their community and will support other organizations fights to defer deportations with grassroots campaigning.
Policy advocacy- One Michigan will continue to advocate for pro-immigrant legislation on a local, state, and national level. Also, they will defend Michigan if anti-immigrant legislation is proposed.
